CLASSES

 
Students may choose from the following courses - 
Theatre Arts 1 (intro level), Theatre Arts 2 (Advanced w/o production requirements), Production 1 (Advanced Intro Level), Production 2, Production 3, Production 4 (Advanced classes with production requirements), Tech 1 (Intro Level), Tech 2, Tech 3, Tech 4 (Advanced classes with optional production requirements), Musical Theatre 1 (Intro Level), Musical Theatre 2, Musical Theatre 3, and Musical Theatre 4 (Advanced level with production requirements). All courses count as a Fine Arts credit. Production classes focus on building mastery of performance, Musical Theatre adds the elements of song and dance to that performance, and Technical Theatre focuses on design, as well as the practical building/tech needs for each of our school productions. Theatre Arts is an introduction to all things Theatre, so you get to try a little bit of everything!

Drama Club and Events

Our Thespian Troupe Officers host drama clubs and social events several times each semester in the MHS Black Box! Officers are ambassadors to our Theatre Program, and learn preparedness and organization by creating and producing events and performance nights for our MHS campus. 
​Coffee Talk is our version of an open mic night. Once a semester MHS Theatre students choose or create their own pieces to perform for their peers while having snacks and coffee, tea, and cocoa. Sometimes we have a theme (Pajama Party, Disney Night, etc.) but participation in the theme is not mandatory.  This is a cozy, fun way to try out new performance pieces - whether they be songs, scenes, dance, poetry, playing an instrument, or whatever else you can think up!  We will have sign up sheets circulating before each event so that you can get a spot in the line up.
